Something in Orange

There’s just something about orange.

It’s warm, bold, impossible to ignore—and somehow it can make a dark room feel alive.

I painted “Something in Orange” because I wanted to capture that feeling. The flowers seem to glow against the moody, textured layers, and the longer you look, the more little pieces of the painting start to reveal themselves.

This is one of those paintings that feels different depending on where you’re standing and what kind of day you’re having. Some days I see strength in it. Other days I see softness. Mostly, I just see a little bit of light refusing to disappear into the dark.
